Meet the Instructors

Bob Rider, Founder + Lead Instructor
Bob brings decades of professional and personal firearms experience to Low Key Carry, including military service, law enforcement, firearms instruction, gun shop ownership, and a lifetime of responsible gun ownership.
That experience is important, but it isn’t the point of Low Key Carry. Bob created LKC to provide the kind of firearms education he believes regular people deserve: practical, patient, approachable, and free of unnecessary theatrics.
His goal is to meet students where they are, whether they are handling a firearm for the first time, building confidence with a handgun, preparing to carry concealed, or working to improve skills they already have.
At LKC, questions are encouraged, safety is non-negotiable, and nobody is expected to arrive already knowing the answers.
Background & Credentials:
U.S. Navy Veteran, Retired CA Police Officer
USCCA Certified Instructor
USCCA Range Safety Officer
Brianna brings a different and equally important perspective to Low Key Carry. She began defensive-pistol training in the late 1990s and has continued developing her skills as a responsible gun owner and recreational shooter.
She understands that becoming comfortable around firearms doesn’t happen at the same pace for everyone. Good instruction should give students room to ask questions, learn safely, practice without pressure, and build confidence through experience.
Her approach fits naturally with the LKC philosophy: firearms education doesn’t need to be intimidating or wrapped in gun-culture theatrics. It should be welcoming, practical, safety-focused, and relevant to the person standing in front of the instructor.
